Pink Bows, Big Love 🎀
October usually finds me surrounded by pumpkins, spooky decorations, and enough Halloween glitter to mildly concern the vacuum cleaner. But this month, there’s another reason I’m reaching for pink.
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and here at Vaguely Veronica, we’re showing our support with someone especially close to our hearts in mind: our sister. 💗
That makes this personal. Behind every pink ribbon is a person, a family, and a story that deserves care. For us, that ribbon carries love for our sister—a reminder of why showing up for the people we love matters so much.
So I’m swapping my usual “V” for a pink ribbon on my special cheer uniform. Still sparkly, still very Veronica, but carrying a little extra meaning this month. 🎀
In cheer, we learn that being part of a team means supporting each other through the difficult moments, too. Sometimes that support is loud enough to fill a gym. Sometimes it’s a quiet message, a listening ear, help with an everyday task, or simply asking, “What would help you today?”
You don’t need perfect words to show someone you care. A little kindness, followed by a little follow-through, can mean so much.
This month, our love also goes out to everyone affected by breast cancer, along with the families, friends, and caregivers beside them. Everyone’s experience is different, and there should always be room for the hard days, the hopeful days, and the days when someone just needs to be themselves without putting on a brave face.
To our sister: we love you. This ribbon is for you, and our support reaches far beyond October. đź’—
Pink bows on. Hearts open. A whole lot of love behind every sparkle.
With love and glitter,
Veronica 🎀
